Dubbed as the country's "Little Detroit" due to the presence of major car manufacturers Ford, Toyota, Honda, Isuzu and Nissan, Sta. Rosa is expected to attract more investments once the new interchange at the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and the Biñan-Sta. Rosa circumferential road are completed, Empire East Land president Anthony Charlemagne Yu said in a press statement.

Sta. Rosa, which supplies half of the cars, buses and trucks sold and used in the country, was the biggest revenue earner in 2002 among the country's municipalities.
